Midtown is the stretch of Palm Beach between the Royal Park and Southern Boulevard bridges, roughly Peruvian and Australian Avenues across to the ocean blocks. It is where the island is least a postcard and most a town: low apartment buildings, a pharmacy, people walking dogs. Most private rentals and a good share of the smaller hotels sit here rather than on the water, and the addresses are ordinary street numbers rather than landmarks.
From Miami International the distance is about 70 miles and the time 70 to 100 minutes. The standard approach is I-95 north to Okeechobee Boulevard and east over the Royal Park Bridge, which lands you on Royal Palm Way within a few blocks of most Midtown addresses. It is the shortest of the three island approaches and, outside the afternoon peak, the least eventful.
The quoted fare from $129 is per vehicle and all-in: waiting time at MIA, tolls, parking, meet and greet in arrivals, and flight tracking. There is no surge applied at peak hours, on holidays or during season, which on this route matters more than it sounds; the same journey priced dynamically in mid-March behaves very differently.
Because Midtown is residential, gate and entrance detail is worth giving at booking. Several buildings along Australian and Chilean have service entrances distinct from their lobbies, and a number of rentals hand over keys at a management office rather than the property. Ten seconds of instruction when you book saves a phone call at eleven at night on the kerb.
